Two of our restaurants top the list of the six best-looking restaurants in San Diego!
Burlap made a splashy debut on August 4th with a spectacular party for friends and supporters. Thomas Schoos and Brian Malarkey (seen here in photo #1) kept the party rocking with plenty of laughs, tasty chicken balls and constantly flowing "Geishas," the Burlap signature drink made with fresh blueberries and other secret intoxicants. At one point, Brian even led a parade of Chinese dragon dancers, demonstrating some impressive dance moves. The dragon dancing used a large dragon puppet similar to the dramatic dragon puppets that are part of the permanent decor above the bar.
Burlap is the second collaboration between Schoos Design and "Top Chef" Brian Malarkey, the first being San Diego hotspot Searsucker, which was rated the second most popular restaurant in the country by OpenTable. With Burlap, we're shooting for #1 -- hardly a long shot with "shrinking violets" like Thomas and Brian leading the way!
